Berkeley Plantation
Berkeley is Virginia's most historic plantation. The 1726 Georgian mansion is furnished with rare period antiques. Berkeley's grounds are its crowning jewel. Five terraces of restored boxwood and flower gardens offer breathtaking vistas of the James River. Audio-visual program and museum exhibit area available. Chickahominy Wildlife Management Area
Hunting opportunities include those for deer, turkeys, squirrels, rabbits, doves and waterfowl. Morris Creek is a good largemouth stream and also provides excellent fishing for crappie and catfish, including channel, blue and white. Parking areas are located along routes 623 and 621 as well as along some of the interior roads. Trails mowed to benefit wildlife also invite hikers. The Area is excellent for observing and photographing wildlife. Visits to the bluffs along the Chickahominy River, or the interior of the property often yield sightings of many upland and wetland plant and animal species, including ospreys and bald eagles. Colonial Williamsburg
Visit Colonial Williamsburg and step back more than 220 years to the eve of the American Revolution. DeWitt Wallace Decorative Arts Museum
Houses the foundation's renowned collection of English and American decorative arts dating from 1600 through 1830. These include the largest collection of Virginia furniture in the world, one of the largest collections of Southern, English and American furniture and the largest collection of English pottery outside England. Masterworks and period pieces acquired for Colonial Williamsburg's Historic Area exhibition buildings bolster the museum's holdings in furniture, metals, ceramics, glass, paintings, prints, maps and textiles. Evelynton Plantation
Evelynton Plantation was originally part of William Byrd's Westover Plantation and was named for his daughter, Evelyn. The original house and outbuildings were destroyed during the Civil War Peninsula Campaign in 1862. The Georgian Revival manor house is furnished throughout with 18th-century English and American antiques. House and grounds are available for special events. Historic Jamestown Settlement
Jamestown is the site of the first permanent English-speaking settlement in North America.� The Original Site is part of the Colonial National Historical Park and is administered by the National Park Service.� At the National Park Service Visitor Center, a 15-minute film, exhibits and tours will help take you back to Jamestown's beginnings. See the original church tower that dates to the early 1640s. It stands near the reconstructed ruins of some of the original buildings. Talk with archaeologists as they continue to uncover remains of the 1607 James Fort and the earliest Jamestown Settlement. Drive the self-guided auto tour of the island. Observe some of the natural resources that greeted those settlers. Piney Grove at Southall's Plantation
Piney Grove is a rare survival of Early Virginia Log Architecture. The building was enlarged in 1850 by Furnea Southall's grandson, John Stubblefield and in 1905 as the home of Civil War veteran Thomas Fletcher Harwood. Piney Grove is furnished with family heirlooms and a collection of antiques and artifacts that chronicles the history of Piney Grove and the Southall Plantation, as well as the entire James River Plantation Country.

Sherwood Forest Plantation Home of President John Tyler
Visit President John Tyler's home from 1842 - 1862. This is the private residence of Tyler's grandson today. It is the longest frame house in America. Shirley Plantation
Virginia's oldest plantation, Shirley was settled in 1613 and is America's oldest family-owned business. The main house reflects Queen Anne architecture and the famous three-story square-flying staircase, unique to North America. Antique family portraits, silver, furniture and finely carved 18th-century paneling and moldings also remain. Robert E. Lee's mother, Ann Hill Carter, was born, raised and married Light Horse Harry Lee at Shirley. Visitors can explore seven original early 18th-century brick outbuildings, four of which form a distinctive Queen Anne Forecourt.
