Arlington National Cemetery Tour
Arlington National Cemetery Tour begins at the visitor center on Memorial Dr.; tickets are available at the Arlington National Cemetery Tourmobile ticket booth. The tour includes the Kennedy gravesites; the Tomb of the Unknowns for the Changing of the Guard ceremony; and Arlington House, the Robert E. Lee Memorial. Call (202) 554-5100 for more information.

Clara Barton National Historic Site
Clara Barton National Historic Site, 5801 Oxford Rd., was the home of the founder and first president of the American Red Cross from 1897 until her death in 1912, and served as the early headquarters of that organization. Built according to the floor plan of a Red Cross relief structure used after the flood of 1889 at Johnstown, Pa., the 1891 house is furnished with some items that once belonged to Barton. Colvin Run Mill Historic Site
The restored 19th-century mill still grinds cornmeal and whole wheat flour, and the miller's house and barn contain historical exhibits. A general store also is on the grounds. Call (703) 759-2771 for more information.

Fort Ward Museum and Historic Site
Fort Ward Museum and Historic Site is at 4301 W. Braddock Rd., just e. of I-395 between King St. and Seminary Rd. Fort Ward sits on 45 acres and was one of the forts that formed a defensive ring around Washington during the Civil War. The museum presents changing exhibits pertaining to that conflict. Interpretive programs, an orientation videotape and lectures are offered throughout the year. Free evening concerts are held outdoors Thursdays, July through August. The Manassas Museum
The Manassas Museum is at 9101 Prince William St. The museum depicts the history and culture of Manassas and the northern Virginia Piedmont region through artifacts, photographs and videotape presentations. Highlights include 19th-century toys, a Confederate regimental flag, weapons and African-American history exhibits. Living-history programs are presented throughout the year.
