Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center
The Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge includes over 14,000 acres of beach-dune-marsh-forest system located primarily on the Virginia portion of Assateague Island, a barrier island along the Maryland and Virginia coast. The Refuge offers unlimited opportunities for students of all ages to learn about wildlife, plants, and habitats. All visitors can participate in observation, fishing, clamming, bicycling, hiking, and wildlife photography. Crockett Studio and Gallery
Stop in and visit the Crockett Studio & Gallery. Meet the very talented Crockett family, with Willie always there giving support where needed. His knowledge of the Chesapeake Bay is invaluable. He was born on Tangier Island, Virginia and has since spent most of his adult life teaching others about the Chesapeake Bay and its heritage. Crockett Studio & Gallery has a variety of artwork by owner and world-renowned watercolor artist, Willie Crockett as well as wildlife sculptures by his son, Billy.

Eastern Shore of Virginia National Wildlife Refuge
This area is one of the most important avian migration funnels in North America. Each fall, like colorful clockwork, the refuge is the scene of a spectacular drama as millions of songbirds and monarch butterflies and thousands of raptors converge at the tip of the peninsula on their voyage south. Favorable weather patterns push migrating species through the area in waves. Clouds of tree swallows swirl over ponds and flame orange and black-winged monarch butterflies float aloft. Eastern Shore Railway Museum
Founded in 1988, the Museum is open daily year round except Mondays November - March, Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Years Day. Hours are from Monday - Saturday 10:30am - 4pm; Sunday 1- 4 pm. Tangier Island
To visit the Island is a day’s event. It takes approx. 1 ½ hours to arrive at Tangier Island. Once there touring can be done by walking, biking, or golf cart rentals as there are no vehicles.
